Corporate flowers fail for logistical reasons far more often than for aesthetic ones. The arrangement is usually fine. It is the loading dock, the security desk and the empty office on a Friday that undo it.
We have been delivering to Montreal offices, law firms, clinics and hotels for thirty years. Here is how to make a business order arrive properly and look like your company.
What a business sends flowers for
- Thanking a client. After a contract closes, a project ships, or a long relationship reaches a round number.
- Marking something for an employee. A work anniversary, a promotion, a return from leave, a retirement.
- An opening or a launch. New premises, a first location, a ribbon to cut.
- Sympathy on behalf of the company. One arrangement, signed with the group's name.
- The reception desk, every week. The quietest and most effective of the lot, because it is the first thing anyone sees.
What suits a business
Personal bouquets can be as expressive as you like. A corporate one has to read well to people who did not choose it.
| A restrained palette | Whites and greens, or a single colour worked through. It reads as considered, and it never clashes with a lobby. Your brand colours can be woven in quietly if you tell us in the order notes. |
| No red roses | Between a company and a client, or a manager and an employee, red roses say something nobody intended. |
| Unscented, in a vase | Many Quebec workplaces are officially fragrance-free, and no office has a vase. Write “for an office” in the order notes and we handle both. |
| Flowers that hold | Alstromerias, chrysanthemums and lisianthus take dry office air in stride. An orchid plant does better still, and stays for months. |
| A size that fits the surface | Compact for a desk, generous for a reception counter. A piece that has to be moved to make room is a piece that gets moved out of sight. |
Getting it into the building
This is where business deliveries actually go wrong, and it is all in the order form.
- First name and last name: the person receiving it. For a reception arrangement, the office manager.
- Company field: the firm. Downtown towers check that name before anything else.
- Second address line: the floor and the suite number. That line is what gets our driver past the lobby.
- Order notes: the office hours. We cannot promise a set hour, our routes are built the same morning, but knowing when the doors are open keeps the arrangement out of a closed reception.
- Avoid Fridays where you can. Hybrid schedules mean the office is at its emptiest, and flowers delivered to an empty floor wait until Monday.
A launch that landed
A Montreal firm sent thank-you bouquets to its first clients rather than the usual gift baskets. Modern, restrained, in the two colours of their identity, with a card written individually for each one. They told us the response was out of proportion to what it cost, because nobody else had sent anything that looked like it had been designed.
Flowers on a standing schedule
Weekly or biweekly flowers at reception are the simplest version of corporate flowers, because the decision is made once. Our subscription follows the season, so what arrives in October is not what arrived in June, and nobody in the office has to think about it.
For several deliveries to different addresses on the same day, place them as separate orders and write the same reference in the notes of each. That way they stay together in our schedule.
Sympathy on behalf of the company
